Rocha became professional after a stellar amateur career, signing with Golden Boy in January 2016. In March 2016, Rocha had an exhilarating professional debut, defeating Jordan Rosario at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. On May 6, 2016, in the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada, Rocha followed up with an equally thrilling first-round knockout against Abdel Vera.

On June 4, Rocha fought Anthony Woods on the undercard of Francisco Vargas vs. Orlando Salido at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Rocha won a unanimous decision with scores of 40-36 from all three judges after going all four rounds for the first time.
