Anil Vasantrao Deshmukh is that the Home Minister of Maharashtra from the Nationalist Congress Party, and has been a member of the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 14th Maharashtra legislature , representing Katol (Assembly Constituency).
He also served as Minister of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs within the Government of Maharashtra and Minister of structure Department. He previously served as Minister of State for college Education, Information and PR and Sports and Youth Affairs and Minister of State for Education and Culture within the Government of Maharashtra.
Early life - Deshmukh hails from Vad Vihira village near Katol in Nagpur district. He attended Katol highschool . Later, he enrolled within the College of Agriculture, Nagpur and Drs. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth honored by Akola.
Political Career - Deshmukh served because the chairman of Nagpur Zilla Parishad during the first years of his political life. He was first elected to the Maharashtra State legislature in 1995 as an independent candidate from Katol. He represented that constituency till 2014. He served as Minister of State within the BJP-Shiv Sena coalition government in 1995.
His departments therein government included education, and culture. He later joined the Nationalist Congress Party, a celebration formed in 1999. When the NCP / Congress alliance came to power in Maharashtra in 1999, he initially served because the Minister of State for college Education, Information and PR , Sports and Youth Welfare. He was promoted as a cupboard minister within the government . As a cupboard minister from 2001 to 2014, he was liable for various government departments. These include:
Excise, Food and medicines , Maharashtra State, (2001 to March 2004)
Public Works (Public Enterprises), Maharashtra State (2004 to 2008)

In the 2014 assembly elections, Deshmukh lost the Katol seat to his nephew Ashish Deshmukh. However, he secured the Katol seat as an NCP candidate within the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections. Deshmukh was appointed because the Home Minister of Maharashtra when Uddhav Thackeray came to power in November 2019 under the Chief Minister, the NCP, Shiv Sena and therefore the Congress's Mahavikas coalition. aside from his portfolio, Deshmukh is additionally the patron minister of Gondia district.
