Audrina Patridge Professional Career
As a spin-off of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, MTV created the reality television series The Hills in 2005. It originally followed the lives of Lauren Conrad, who had previously appeared on the show, her housemate Heidi Montag, and friends Whitney Port and Patridge. During the first season’s production, producers cast her in a position with Quixote Studios. Patridge was cast with Epic Records the following season.
Montag ended her friendship with Patridge later in the season, though the women later reconciled. Patridge and Lo Bosworth later became roommates with Conrad after Montag moved in with Spencer Pratt. Patridge rekindled her on-again, off-again relationship with boyfriend Justin Brescia, whom Bosworth jokingly dubbed “Justin Bobby” during the third season. Their tumultuous relationship persisted through each season.
On May 28, 2009, she confirmed to Ryan Seacrest on On Air that she was leaving The Hills to star in her own reality show documenting her life outside of The Hills. Her series finale was supposed to air on December 1, 2009. However, she later signed on for the sixth (and final) season of The Hills, while her new series, produced by Mark Burnett and set to air on MTV in mid-2010, was pushed back due to The Hills.
Patridge began her Hollywood career on the reality show The Hills before landing a minor role in Into the Blue 2: The Reef. On April 21, 2009, the film was released exclusively on DVD. Patridge has appeared on the shows Mad TV and Do Not Disturb. Patridge’s naked photos were published online in March 2008. “They were taken when I was fresh out of high school and just starting out as a model,” Patridge explained. “I was inexperienced, naive, and overly trusting of people.”
She was cast as Megan in Sorority Row in August 2008; production lasted from October 2008 to early 2009, and the film was released on September 11, 2009. Patridge bought a home in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Dell neighbourhood in August 2008. Two members of the Bling Ring broke into Patridge’s home on February 22, 2009. She appeared in a PETA advertisement urging people to adopt rather than buy pets.
Patridge appeared in commercials for Carl’s Jr. in 2009, 2010, and 2012.She denied rumours that she would play the role of her former Hills co-star Lauren Conrad in the film adaptation of Conrad’s book L.A.
