Ciarlo, also known as “Babe,” in Ken Burns’ PBS film series The War, which tells the story of the men who fought in combat and their loved ones back home.

He also narrated Richard Price’s 2008 novel Lush Life and Ed Falco’s 2012 novel The Family Corleone as audiobooks. On August 25, 2008, ABC ordered his pilot Cupid to series, a remake of the 1998 show starring Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall. Cannavale starred in the new version of the series alongside Sarah Paulson, with script development overseen by original series creator Rob Thomas. Cupid premiered on ABC on March 31, 2009, but was cancelled less than two months later, on May 19, 2009.
