Norrie won his first Davis Cup match in Spain in 2018 against world No. 23 Roberto Bautista Agut, despite only turning professional eight months before and not having played on clay since 2013. Norrie, ranked 114, came back from a two-set deficit in what former Davis Cup captain John Lloyd called “one of the most impressive debuts of all time.”

Norrie won the first qualifying round of the ATP Auckland Open in January 2013, his first senior tournament.In 2013, Norrie competed in three clay-court events: the Great Britain Futures F9 second round, F11 quarterfinals, and the Boy’s French Open first round.
