Chris Bailey Career

Chris Bailey took a one-year sabbatical after college to research and execute productivity experiments on himself, publishing his findings on his blog, A Year of Productivity. In May 2013, he began a year-long project in which he tested new and old productivity theories through experiments such as living in seclusion for ten days, limiting his smartphone use to an hour per day for three months, getting up at 5:30 a.m. every day, and experimenting with different workweek lengths, ranging from 20 to 90 hours, to find the optimal workweek length.

The Productivity Project, a Canadian nonfiction bestseller and the top-selling nonfiction audio book on Audible.com for the week of July 15, 2016, gathered insights and tactics gleaned through these tests, as well as interviews with other experts in the field. The Productivity Project was rated one of the top ten management and business books of 2016, by the Globe and Mail, and one of the top three business books of the year by Fortune magazine.

In Taiwan, the Mandarin Chinese translation of the book was a best-selling Business Finance book.Learning to manage one’s time, energy, and attention is one of the book’s fundamental ideas.Bailey discusses the benefits of identifying one’s Biological Prime Time and dedicating that time to important tasks by creating a daily to-do list limited to the three most important tasks that need to be completed that day, among other productivity strategies.
