Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the GTB Hospital in East Delhi amidst the fast growing figures of Corona in Delhi. Keeping in sight the shortage of ICU beds in Delhi, CM Kejriwal announced that within the next two days, 232 ICU beds are going to be increased in GTB Hospital along side 663 ICU beds in Delhi government hospitals within the next few days.
The number of ICU beds are going to be increased in 11 hospitals of Delhi government. The order associated with this has been issued by the Delhi government. The Delhi government has directed the medical directors and directors of those 11 hospitals to extend the amount of ICU beds by upgrading oxygen beds to ICU beds. it's been asked to implement this directive with immediate effect.
These 11 hospitals of Delhi Government currently have a complete of 1167 ICU beds, out of which 580 are with ventilators while 587 are without ventilators.The Delhi government has ordered that in these hospitals, ICU beds with 22 ventilators should be increased, while 641 ICU beds without ventilators should be increased. With this, the amount of ICU beds with ventilators in hospitals of Delhi Government are going to be 602, the amount of ICU beds without ventilators are going to be 1228, and therefore the total number of beds are going to be 1830.
