Damon Arnette is an American football cornerback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). 

He played college football at Ohio State and was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Early Life and Family

Damon Arnette was born on 2nd September 1996 and was brought up in Dallas, Texas.He attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where he played linebacker and wide receiver for the Raiders.He was named an honorable mention Class 8A-7A-6A All-County as a senior and helped lead the team to the state championship. Granted three-star recruit status, Arnett originally committed to playing college football in South Carolina during the summer before turning over his commitment to Ohio State on National Signing Day.

Professional Career

Arnett relived his true freshman season after a bone chip was discovered in his tibia during training camp. He played in 13 games for Ohio State the following season as a leading reserve on the defensive back and recorded 21 tackles with one interception. As a redshirt sophomore, Arnett started 12 of the Buckeyes' 14 games and led the team's cornerback with 44 tackles that broke two interceptions and eight passes and was named an honorable mention All-Big Ten Conference. 

Arnett was again named to honorable mentions as a junior, 40 tackles and an interception. In 13 games played. Arnett originally planned to forgo his final season of NCAA eligibility to drop out of school and enter the 2019 NFL Draft, but ultimately decided to return to Ohio State for his final year of eligibility. Arnett scored his first career touchdown on September 14. , 2019 on a 97-yard interception return against Indiana. 

At the end of the season Arnett was named to the Second Team All-Big Ten, recording 35 tackles, eight passes defended. Ed and an interception while playing with a broken wrist. Arnett was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round as the 19th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Raiders had previously received the 19th pick as part of a trade sending off Khaleel Mack.
