He began rapping within the early 1990s and released his debut album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot in 1998, which sold 251,000 copies within the primary week of release, with both critical acclaim and commercial success. MDX has been featured in films like Bailey, Romeo, Must Die, Exit Wound, Cradle 2 The Grave and Last Hour. Early life and Family : Earl Simmons was born on December 18, 1970 in Mount Vernon , New York, the son of 19-year-old Arnett Simmons and 18-year-old Joe Barker, and was born in nearby Yonkers. He has no name , and was named Earl at birth. Earl was Arnett's second child, having born to a daughter Bonita two years earlier, along side a daughter, Shyla, and Earl after two Stillborn sons. Barker didn't want Simmons to stay his son, and stop most contact with the family as soon because the Earl was born.
As a child, Simmons suffered greatly from asthma , being unable to remain awake almost overnight thanks to being taken to the ER . He was mentioned within the Jehovah's Witnesses faith. Professional career : DMX started within the music industry in 1984, when he pitched for an area rapper named Ready Ron.
