George Rossi was a Scottish actor, best known for playing Duncan Lennox in The Bill from 1998 to 2003.Born in Govan, Glasgow, he was of Italian descent, his parents originating from Valvori, a frazione of Vallerotonda in Lazio, Italy. Growing up, he worked in the family ice-cream van. His brother, Peter, appeared alongside him in the film Comfort and Joy.Rossi trained at East 15 Acting School in Debden, Essex.He also played Kevin in Roughnecks and has appeared in Taggart, Holby City, Boon, Local Hero, The Singing Detective, and Whitechapel.

George Rossi made his acting debut in 1984, in Comfort and Joy (1984) and continued to work throughout the 1980s which included featuring in the TV Pilot Max Headroom (1985) and the film. The Singing Detective.
George continued to work in television and movies in the 1990s. He starred alongside Liam Neeson as a combatant in _Big Man, The_ (1990), and then returned to Italy for Roseanna’s Grave (1997), in which he played a police sergeant. This would come in handy for George when he was cast as Detective Duncan Lennox in the popular police drama series “Bill, The” (1983) in 1998. Rossi, who played a down-to-earth but capable cop, quickly became a fan favourite. George left the show in January 2003 after four years, but he will be remembered for playing one of the most popular characters on The Bill in the late 1990s. He has appeared in films with Jean Reno, Chris O’Donnell (I), and Sandra Bullock.
