Jabril Cox is an American football linebacker. He played college football at North Dakota State, where he won three FCS championships and named the MVFC defensive player of the year in 2018, before transferring to LSU in 2020. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys within the 2021 NFL Draft.

Early life

Cox grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and attended Raytown South highschool , where he played quarterback who also played wide receiver, linebacker, safety and cornerback on the eleven .Graduated from North Dakota State within the spring of 2019 with a degree in psychology and a minor in business...Son of James and Lotu Cox of Kansas City,Cox Family includes three brothers and three sisters...Younger brother, Jasir Cox, joined him as a linebacker on the NDSU eleven in 2018 and 2019.

College career

Cox began his collegiate career at North Dakota State. He redshirted his freshman year as he moved to the linebacker position.As a redshirt freshman he was named second team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) and therefore the conference Newcomer of the Year.Cox was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year and varsity All-MVFC after recording 91 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks with four interceptions, two of which he returned for a touchdown.Cox made 92 tackles with 5.5 was named varsity All-MVFC fora second straight season, also as an All-American by the Associated Press.

Cox transferred to LSU as a graduate transfer.Cox recorded a sack and returned an interception 14 yards for a touchdown within the season opening loss to Mississippi State.He finished the season because the Tigers' third-leading tackler with 58 tackles along side 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery and eight passes defended with one interception.

 With the 115th pick within the fourth round of the NFL draft, the Cowboys selected linebacker Jabril Cox from LSU on Saturday.He is the sixth straight defensive pick for the Cowboys. this is often the primary time in franchise history the Cowboys have chosen a defensive player with each of their first six draft selections.
