Tracini made his stage debut in a pantomime version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend during the Christmas season of 2005. After beginning his studies at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts the following year, he went on to perform in a number of their in-house productions, including A Chorus Line and Sexual Perversity in Chicago, as well as a tour version of Richard III, in which he portrayed the title character. In 2007, he returned to the pantomime stage to play Peter Pan at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley.

A year later, he reprised the role, this time at Hayes’ Beck Theatre, alongside Leslie Grantham as Captain Hook.Despite a busy filming schedule with Coming of Age and My Spy Family, he returned to the stage in 2009 to play Buttons in Cinderella at The Hawth in Crawley, where he received glowing reviews from the local press.

After taking a year off in 2010, he returned to pantomime in 2011 at the Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon, playing Wishee Washee alongside Larry Lamb in Aladdin. Tracini reprised his role as Buttons the following year, this time at York’s Barbican Centre alongside close friend Dani Harmer and ex-EastEnders star Joe Swash.

His television career began in 2004 when he appeared as a guest on the CITV STEM show Prove It! He made his full television debut in 2007 as Spike Bannon in My Spy Family, which aired on Boomerang. Following the success of the first series, he would return for the second and third series before the show was cancelled in January 2010. Tracini was also cast as Darren ‘DK’ Karrimore in a pilot for the new BBC Three situation comedy Coming of Age in 2007.

The first series, which aired in 2008, was well received, with an average weekly audience of 1.2 million viewers. Tracini continued to receive praise for his outrageous performances in subsequent second and third series, but the show was canceled in 2011. Tracini also appeared as Victor in the single series of the BBC Four comedy The Great Outdoors in 2010.

Tracini was announced in August 2011 that he would be joining the cast of the long-running Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks as Dennis Savage.Dennis, like Lee Hunter, was primarily meant to take on comedic storylines. His first appearance was on November 11, 2011. Tracini was nominated for Best Comedy Performance at the British Soap Awards 2012 after only six months in the role, but was defeated by Stephanie Cole from Coronation Street. Later that year, Tracini was nominated for “Funniest Male” at the Inside Soap Awards 2012, but he was defeated by EastEnders’ Ricky Norwood.

Tracini was nominated in the same category the next two years, but lost both times to Simon Gregson from Coronation Street. It was announced in April 2014 that he would be leaving the soap, with his final scenes airing in November of that year. He appeared in 165 episodes in total. He will make a brief return to Hollyoaks in August 2018. Tracini co-hosts the CBBC DIY series The Dengineers with Lauren Layfield from 2017 to the present, replacing Mark Wright in series 3.
