Collins and the other reporter both declined to comply with the request. The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) had managed the socially distanced seating plan for the briefing room, which had been agreed to by White House officials the previous month. Collins’ refusal to comply with the White House official’s order prompted that official to suggest that the Secret Service be summoned, which did not happen.
