Scottish singer best known as the singer of the popular band Bay City Rollers. They released hit songs like Bye, Bye, Baby.
Early Life and Family : Leslie Richard McKeown was a Scottish pop singer who was the lead singer of the Bay City Rollers during their most successful period.McKeown was born to Irish parents at the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion in Edinburgh.He joined the Bay City Rollers in late 1973, leaving by mutual agreement in 1978.In 2015 he re-joined the group for a series of reunion shows.
Personal Life : Wife Peko Keiko enjoyed a lengthy, turbulent marriage with the musician, during which she stood by him despite variety of gay affairs to which he confessed to.Les spoke candidly to the Scottish Sun within the wake of the news about how supportive his wife had been, saying: "Peko’s a fantastic woman. There are times when she’s forgiven me for cheating with other women. i feel this has been harder.Together 44 years, the couple had one child together - their son, Jubei.
Professional Life: In 1973 McKeown left the band Threshold and have become the lead singer of the Bay City Rollers. After ending with the band, he worked on a solo career and released the album All Washed Up in 1979 . In Japan he was successful, while in Europe he was unable to create on the success of his former band.
At the top of the 1980s he returned to the charts in Germany with producer Dieter Bohlen . His first single , She's a woman , also on the debut album of Blue System was to be found, reached number 38 of the German single charts . This was followed by Love is simply a Breath Away , Love Hurts and Love Heals and it is a game from the soundtrack to ZDF - TV Series rival the racecourse three more coming from Bohlen spring Top 50 hits in Germany.
Half of the 1989 album it is a Game - the primary Album , the songs trying to find Love , Natural Lover , i want Your Love and i will be Your Lover , were produced by McKeown himself. The last single, Nobody Makes Me , also written by Bohlen Crazy (Like You Do) , was also released as an album track during a version by Blue System.
In March 1990 McKeown took spare the title Ball and Chain within the British preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest and took fourth place. In 2005 he toured with a Bay City Rollers follow-up band. along side the photographer Wolfgang Heilemann , McKeown ran a karaoke club in Munich.
