On the Sundance Channel, Macfarlane had an early role opposite Cynthia Nixon in Robert Altman’s miniseries Tanner on Tanner. He went on to star in the 2005 FX series Over There (as PV2 Frank “Dim” Dumphy) and the 2009 two-part miniseries Iron Road.On ABC’s Brothers & Sisters, Macfarlane played Scotty Wandell, the husband of Kevin Walker (played by Matthew Rhys), one of the show’s “brothers.”

Fellow Nameless was born at London Central Secondary School because the band members despised the original name, which was Slipnaught.

Fellow Nameless has released one underground album, a half-studio, half-live CD album, and they recorded ten songs that were never released, including three songs recorded for a development deal with Maverick Records.They performed a showcase for Maverick Records A&R Danny Strick and were ultimately passed over.

Fellow Nameless, a once-defunct London, Ontario-based band, later had two incarnations without Macfarlane as lead singer. Van A Primer and a new singer, Matthew Pearn, formed the first incarnation in the second quarter of 2004. As of March 2006, three of the remaining band members were performing under the new name Cancel Winter.
