Mark Allan Hoppus is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and  a TV personality. He became popular as the bassist and co-lead vocalist of the pop punk band 'Blink-182'. Hoppus was born in Ridgecrest, California, and developed an early interest in music. He received a bass guitar from his father on his fifteenth birthday.

Along with Tom DeLong and Scott Raynor, Hoppus founded the band 'Blink-182'. The band soon became known for their high-energy live shows. His debut album 'Cheshire Cat' was released in 1995. Although the album failed to hit any US charts, it did enter the charts in Australia and New Zealand.

Professional Career

During the summer of 1992, Mark Hoppus was introduced to Tom DeLong by his sister. Shortly after their meeting, DeLong and Hopes began performing together. Later, they also recruited DeLong's old friend Scott Raynor to become their drummer. Eventually he named his band 'Blink-182'.

The band released their debut album 'Cheshire Cat' in 1995. He toured extensively to promote his album. Although the album did not hit any charts in the US, it did enter the Australian and New Zealand charts. Hoppus collaborated with the band '+44' on their only studio album 'When Your Heart Stops Beating' (2006). The album peaked at number ten on the US Billboard 200, but was not a commercial success. Lyrics to all songs on the album were written by Hopes. After a hiatus of several years, Blink-182 released their sixth album 'Neighborhoods' in 2011.
