Mary McCartney was born in Avenue Clinic in St John’s Wood, London, on August 28, 1969. Mary McCartney was her paternal name, which she inherited from her grandmother. She is the biological daughter of her father Paul McCartney and her mother Linda McCartney, who was a well-known photographer at the time. Heather McCartney, Mary’s older half-sister, was born on December 31, 1962, to her biological mother Linda and Joseph Melville See Jr. Paul McCartney adopted Heather McCartney after their marriage, and their other children Stella Nina McCartney (born September 13, 1971) and James Louis McCartney were born later (12th September 1977).
Mary’s mother, who was of Jewish origin, died in 1998 as a result of complications from breast cancer.
