Michelle Lodzinski is the mother of five years old boy Timothy William “Timmy” Wiltsey . In 1991, a five-year-old kid was discovered dead. His mother was deemed guilty and suspected of the murder by the police. Michelle Lodzinski had previously told police that her five-year-old child had gone missing at a carnival near Sayreville on May 25, 1991.
The police scoured the park where the carnival was held for the youngster but were unable to find him. Timmy’s bones were discovered 11 months later across the Raritan River in the marshlands of New Jersey, where Michelle had previously worked. Timmy’s remains were decayed and in such poor condition that determining the cause of death was difficult. As a result, connecting the accounts and determining when and how the incident occurred proved challenging.

Michelle Lodzinski was sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison for the conviction of her 5-year-old son. At 2016, she was sentenced to prison for the murder of her dead son, who she claimed had vanished in the carnival, according to the court hearing.
Despite many jury convictions and protracted trials, the prosecutors were unable to show enough evidence to prove that she was the sole one responsible for the murder of his 5-year-old kid, the Supreme Court concluded 4-3. The majority of the court stated that, while the evidence implies that Timmy’s death was unusual, he did not die unintentionally, and that, while there is no proof that Michelle Lodzinski committed the murder, there was no evidence or testimony to show that Timothy died as a result of negligence. According to authorities in May 1991, Michelle Lodzinski was a single mother at the time of Timothy’s death. According to the mother, her child went missing at the carnival. But, at the time, she was also considered the primary suspect in the investigation from the start. Following that, Michelle made multiple contradictory accounts to the authorities detailing what happened that night.
Michelle informed the officers that she had left her son alone for a few minutes to get some lemonade. When she returned, she discovered that no one had been at the location where she had left her child. He has vanished. Michelle stated that she went out for a drink and then returned to the location. She noticed that the couple had left the area. Michelle’s third incarnation or statement included a woman and two men, one of whom stabbed Timothy. Timothy’s body was located nearly a year later in a swampy region by police and detectives. Michelle had worked in an office building near where the body was discovered.
The cause of death could not be determined because the 5-year-old boy’s body had deteriorated by the time they discovered it. Michelle Lodzinski was accused with the murder of her only son on his 29th birthday in August 2014. Michelle had two children and was residing in Port St. Lucie, Florida, at the time. The babysitter had identified the blanket over the body of the young boy, according to the detectives, who filed a complaint against her.
The blanket belonged to the mother and the child’s household, she told the detectives. The cover was labelled as a “smoking weapon” by the public prosecutor’s office at the time of the trial in 2016.The body of the baby boy was also abandoned like garbage, according to Assistant District Attorney Christie Bevacqua, but the suspect left a clue in the form of the blanket. Michelle’s lawyers, on the other hand, claimed that no forensic evidence was ever linked to the blanket’s creation. They further claimed that the prosecutors had failed to offer any evidence that the death was caused intentionally.
