Peterman accepted an invitation to participate in the 2017 Senior Bowl on November 16, 2016.During Senior Bowl practices, Peterman impressed scouts and media by displaying his good size, accuracy, mobility, and powerful arm. During the week, he met with representatives from the New Orleans Saints and was praised by NFL analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Charles Davis.
Peterman appeared in the Senior Bowl on January 28, 2017, and completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 153 yards and a touchdown in the North’s 16-15 loss to the South. During the game, Peterman was a member of Chicago Bears head coach John Fox’s North team. Peterman was one of 15 collegiate quarterbacks invited to attend the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He completed the majority of the combine drills but skipped the bench press.
