
P. T. Thomas was an Indian politician who served in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2016 to 2021, representing the Thrikkakkara assembly constituency. He was also a Member of Parliament from Kerala, representing the Idukki Lok Sabha constituency.
He was a member of the Indian National Congress. In the 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election, he was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly from the Thrikkakkara assembly constituency, defeating Sebastian Paul of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) by 11996 votes. At the age of 71, Thomas died of cancer on December 22, 2021.

P. T. Thomas Political Career
Thomas was a vibrant, outspoken Congress leader known for his fiery speeches against opposition parties such as the CPI (M). His speeches in the Kerala Assembly, in which he regularly chastised the current Pinarayi Vijayan-led government and levelled corruption allegations against officials and ministers, were closely watched.
On a Congress ticket, he was elected to the Thodupuzha constituency in Idukki district in 1991 and 2001. From 2009 to 2014, he was a Member of Parliament for the Idukki constituency. He relocated to the urban, diverse seat of Thrikkakara in Ernakulam district in 2016, where he won two consecutive Assembly elections in 2016 and 2021.
