Steven Frederic Seagal was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 10, 1952,the son of medical technician Patricia (1930–2003) and highschool math teacher Samuel Seagal (1928–1991). His mother was of Dutch, English, and German descent, while his father was the son of Russian Jews who had relocated to the U.S.When he was five years old, he moved together with his parents to Fullerton, California.
His mother later told People magazine that, before the move, Seagal was frail and suffered from asthma: “He was a puny kid some time past .But he really thrived after the move.” Seagal attended Buena Park highschool in Buena Park, California, and Fullerton College between 1970 and 1971. As a teen, he spent much time in his garage taking note of loud rock ‘n’ roll .
