Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on said that the third phase of COVID-19 vaccination, during which people above 50 years aged are going to be vaccinated, is predicted to start out next month.Harsh Vardhan told the Lok Sabha that ₹ 35,000 crore has been provided for COVID-19 vaccines within the Union Budget 2021-22, and therefore the minister of finance has assured that allocation can increase if required.
"The second phase started in several parts of the country from Groundhog Day during which a vaccine is being administered to frontline workers whose numbers are estimated to be around two crores. After the completion of phase 1 and phase 2, it's possible that within the next month, the third phase will start during which citizens over 50 (years) are going to be vaccinated across the country," he said.He said COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched on January 16 to vaccinate one crore healthcare workers within the first phase and it's happening smoothly.
