She played for the Longhorns from 2003 to 2007, following a stellar prep career at prep power Duncanville in Texas, where she won a state championship and was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2003.

Jackson was a three-time All-American, the Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2004, and a three-time first-team all-conference selection. Jackson appeared in 123 games for the Longhorns, starting 103 of them. Texas went 30-5 her freshman year and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16; Jackson was named ESPN’s national freshman of the year.

She is the only player in Texas women’s basketball history with 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 300 steals, and 150 blocks. Jackson ranks fifth in Longhorn women’s basketball history with 1,917 points, fourth with 1,039 rebounds, third with 313 steals, and seventh with 181 blocked shots. She is one of only five players in program history to have 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

“Tiffany had a great career and was an impact player,” said Jody Conradt, the former Texas women’s basketball coach who retired after Jackson’s senior year in 2007. “She was recognized for her all-around game as well as her mobility and ability to play multiple positions. Her teammates adored her, and we mourn her death with them.”

The New York Liberty drafted the 6-foot-3 forward in 2007. She spent three full seasons with the Liberty before being traded to Tulsa during her fourth season. Jackson had her best WNBA season in 2011, when she averaged 12.4 points and 8.4 rebounds for the Shock.

She worked for Tulsa until 2015, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Jackson returned to the WNBA for one more season, with Los Angeles, in 2017, before retiring at the age of 32. She then returned to her alma mater for two years as an assistant coach.Jackson was the current head coach at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, an NAIA school.
