Horse rider Tiggy Hancock, 15, was described as a rising star in showjumping events.She was from outside Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, and a part of a family which features a long reference to riding , said the Independent.She was a keen equestrian for several years as a member of the Carlow and Kilkenny Hunt Pony Club, and a really successful working hunter pony competitor.

“Tiggy was a highly talented young athlete and a respected member of our pony high performance eventing programme,” said Horse Sport Ireland (HSI).It added: “Tiggy only began eventing within the autumn of 2018, making an instantaneous mark on the game .”Following a run of impressive performances in 2019, she was selected to represent Ireland at the Under-16 European Eventing Team Championships in Poland, where she and her team mates secured a team trophy .
“Only recently, Tiggy has impressed against senior counterparts… with Coppenagh Spring Sparrow finishing just outside stage , seeing off seasoned athletes who have competed at European and world level.”Tiggy was well-liked among both junior and senior members of Irish equestrian family and her passing are going to be mourned by all.
“The Hancock family are known throughout Ireland for his or her commitment to the equestrian community and people who know them will share in their grief.”The Irish Pony Society said on Facebook: “Everyone within the society is shocked and saddened by the untimely death of 1 of our beloved members, Tiggy Hancock.”The IPS wishes to increase our deepest sympathies to her family and lots of friends.

Tiggy Hancock Cause of death?
Tiggy Hancock died on Wednesday afternoon, June 16, “following a tragic accident at a squad training event in Greenogue, Dublin”, said HSI.
She was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin, but later gave up the ghost .It is understood that Tiggy fell from a horse at a jump, reported the Independent.
HSI said: “The loss of a youth is all always particularly hard to grasp .”This are going to be a difficult time for several of Tiggy’s team mates and friends within the sport.
“Horse Sport Ireland have a delegated support person to help individuals affected, and would encourage them or their parents to return forward to hunt support.
“The Health and Safety Authority have also been notified and can perform an examination tomorrow, Thursday 17th June, 2021.”
