
TikTok is reportedly working on a new feature for the US market that will allow users to do live shopping in the region. The new feature will be launched in collaboration with TalkShopLive, a Los Angeles-based live shopping platform.
TikTok to launch live shopping in the USA – TikTok, a leading Chinese short-form video app, is reportedly planning to launch a new feature on the platform for the US market, where users will be able to access a live shopping feature.
TalkShopLive, a live shopping platform based in Los Angeles, is used for shopping livestreams by Microsoft’s MSN and Walmart.According to the report, TikTok could use TalkShopLive’s technology to allow creators to host live shopping sessions on the platform.
During the holiday season, the company may introduce the live shopping feature.TikTok stated in an official statement that it is “constantly exploring new and different options for how we can best serve our community, creators, and merchants in markets worldwide.”
In the third quarter of this year, the Chinese short-form video app remained the top-grossing non-game app on the App Store and Google Play combined.According to a Sensor Tower report, TikTok saw approximately $914.4 million in consumer spending this quarter, bringing its lifetime total to approximately $6.3 billion.
“TikTok was the No. 1 revenue-generating non-game app on the App Store,” it added. “On Google Play, it came second to Google One, which maintained its No. 1 spot with slightly more than $330 million.”
