US President-elect Joe Biden has told election-weary Americans that it's time to "turn the page", after the body affirmed his conquer President Donald Trump, who has refused to concede and filed a litany of legal challenges to overturn the poll results.
The 538-member body on Monday pushed Biden past the 270-vote threshold to win the bitterly-contested race for the White House. it had been one among the crucial steps required for the 78-year-old Democrat to require office on January 20 because the 46th US President.
“In this battle for the soul of America, democracy prevailed,” Biden said in a prime-time speech from his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. “Now it’s time to turn the page, as we’ve done throughout our history – to unite, to heal.”
