Hotel staff said Jackson, who was 38 years old, had been staying in the Homewood Suites since first checking in on January 11. His family had previously reported him missing on February 12, but the matter was closed the next day after talking to Jackson at the hotel and his wellbeing was assessed.

Then, around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, a homeowner found Jackson dead, with no trauma. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the cause of death.
